KYIV, Oct 11 - DTEK Energy, Ukraine’s largest coal producer, boosted coal production 4.6% year-on-year in January-September 2018, to 17.7 million tons, the company's press service has said.
In September alone 2.2 million tons was produced, 22% more than in September 2017.
"The increase in production at our plants means that we can say that we have fully balanced in-house production of coal. In the remaining three months we are planning to produce about another 6.6 million tons of mark G coal to hit the target figure of 24.3 million tons for this year. This will reduce imports of anthracite to Ukraine. In addition, the country's economy will be stronger," the press service cited DTEK Energy's coal production director Mykhailo Barabash as saying.
