KYIV, Sept 19 – Ukrzaliznytsia is mulling a possibility of increasing transportation tariffs by at least 12% in 2019, Director for Economy and Finance at Ukrzaliznytsia Andriy Riazantsev told reporters on the sidelines of the Global Outlook 2018 conference organized by the European Business Association (EBA) in Kyiv on Tuesday.

He said that the increase in prices is expected for all types of transportation.

"If this year the industrial price index increased by 12%, we can hardly expect a smaller price increase. It can be postponed from year to year, but the increase in the cost of our transportations will always be directly related to the increase in prices for other types of industrial products, because they are part of our cost price. The fact that for many years it was otherwise has resulted in the situation that today we are eating away the fixed assets of the company," he said.
