KYIV, Sept 10 – President Petro Poroshenko said by the end of this year authorities will make a decision to increase the minimum wage to almost UAH 4,200.
"Four years ago, the minimum wage was UAH 1,000-1,200. Then we decided to radically raise it from UAH 1,600 to UAH 3,200. This was last year. This year, at the end of the budget year, we will make a decision to set almost UAH 4,200. And this is an unprecedented increase in wages, but we do this not before the election, we do this in order not to be a country of cheap labor. We have other competitive advantages, and Ukrainians have the right to receive a decent salary," Poroshenko said during a talk with young people, when making a visit to Vinnytsia on Saturday.
