KIEV, June 13 ??“ Ukraine??™s economy expanded 8.5% on the year in May, the strongest economic growth over the past 17 months, after greater demand for steel had boosted the steel sector, officials said Tuesday.

Ukraine??™s economic expansion has been showing steady acceleration since the year??™s beginning defying a 90% hike in natural gas prices in January that has been imposed by Russia.
