KYIV, May 22 - Football fans from the European Union countries will not be able to enter Ukraine if they have ID cards and do not have passports, according to Serhiy Khyzhniak, a representative of the Champions League organizers, transport services and mobility manager for the men's and women's Champions League finals in 2018.
"Despite the fact that EU citizens enter Ukraine without visas, they need to have a passport with them. They are used to traveling within the Schengen area and the EU with ID cards, but this document is not suitable for entry into Ukrainian territory, therefore those fans who come with ID cards, unfortunately, will not be able to get to the football stadium," he said at a news conference in Kyiv on Monday, May 21.
