KYIV, May 21 – Ukraine will update its claim against the Russian Federation for violating the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea with information about the illegal construction of a bridge by the Russian side across the Kerch Strait, spokeswoman for Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) Mariana Betsa has said.

"This [the opening of the Kerch Strait bridge] in no way changes the status of Crimea as an integral part of the territory of Ukraine temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation. Of course, that part of the Kerch [Strait] bridge will be in our suit, which is currently being considered by the Maritime Arbitration as the "Ukraine vs. Russia" case about Russia's violation of the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea," Betsa told Interfax-Ukraine on Monday.
