KYIV, May 15 – Ihor Surkis, the president of Ukraine’s most successful soccer club, Dynamo Kyiv, denied speculations the soccer team may be sold although admitting the team has been facing ‘difficult financial situation.’
"Just look at our children, at how they are dressed, at how the club functions. There are no salary arrears to players or employees. These rumors are spread specifically to destabilize the situation. Yes, nobody hides that today we see the difficult financial situation, but not only in Dynamo, but also in the country as a whole... Now it's harder than it was a few years ago, but it's okay, we will cope with that. The club will function," the club's official website quoted him as saying on Sunday, May 13, after laying flowers at the monument to legendary coach Valeriy Lobanovsky.
