KYIV, April 11 – Transit of 10-15 billion cubic meters (bcm) of Russian gas a year via Ukraine to Europe starting from 2020 will be unprofitable, Energy and Coal Industry Minister Ihor Nasalyk said.
"Statements of [Gazprom Board Chairman Alexei] Miller that they would leave 10-15 bcm and will pump it across Ukraine – our country would not accept these volumes. It is unprofitable for Ukraine," Nasalyk told reporters.
Nasalyk said the transit if economically viable when at least 40 bcm of gas is pumped.
