Ukraine’s gas transit revenue to drop 90% after launch of Nord Stream 2
Journal Staff Report

MOSCOW, April 4 - Transit of Russian gas through Ukraine will drop by up to 90% after the launch of the Nord Stream 2 and TurkStream gas pipelines, Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller said on Channel One.

"We're not saying that we will completely cut off transit through Ukrainian territory, because there are neighboring countries, there are regions that are on the border with Ukraine on the European side and, doubtless, shipments to these regions of Europe will be made by transit through Ukrainian territory. It's another matter that these are volumes that will doubtless be less substantial. Apparently, we might be talking about 10 billion-15 billion cubic meters of gas per year," Miller said.

Ukraine transported 93 bcm of Russian gas in 2017 and 82 bcm in 2016.
