KYIV, March 15 – The introduction of auctions for quotas to sell "green" power is appropriate after the share of renewable energy in Ukraine rises to 11% from current 1.5%, Head of the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Serhiy Savchuk said.

"We committed to achieve 11% in 2020, 25% - in 2035. Can we achieve this even with the current high tariff that we have today? ... With the introduction of auctions, experience and statistics show that development [of renewable energy] slows down," he said, speaking at a roundtable entitled "Introduction of Competitive Tools for the Purchase of Green Energy in Ukraine" organized by the profile parliamentary committee.
