KYIV, March 12 – A consortium led by Westinghouse Electric Company has said that it is ready to produce fuel assemblies for VVER-440 reactors installed at the Rivne nuclear power plant (NPP).
"The consortium has drawn up a conceptual fuel design and defined how it is possible to restore the chain of production and supply of fuel assemblies for VVER-440, following the example of a Westinghouse and ENUSA project for the Loviisa NPP in Finland in 2001 through 2007. In addition to the fuel project, the consortium has developed and confirmed related methods and methodology for licensing and using the new fuel project," the Westinghouse's press service said.
