KYIV, Jan 4 - Ukrainian seaports handled 132.9 million tons of freight in 2017, which is 0.9% more than a year ago, according to information from the Ukrainian Sea Port Authority.
Transshipment of imported cargo grew by 29.1%, to 20.6 million tons and exported cargo handling fell by 1.4%, to 98.8 million tons.
In terms of imports the largest increase in cargo handling in 2017 was recorded in transshipment of mineral fertilizers (six-fold up, to 123.6 million tons). Coal also showed a large growth in its transshipment – by 64.2%, to 6.1 million tons.
