KYIV, Nov 30 – Weakening of the hryvnia in the past weeks is linked to traditional seasonal factors, Deputy Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Oleh Churiy told reporters on Thursday.
"We have a floating exchange rate. Volatility of the hryvnia has increased, as there is a seasonal factor," he said.
Churiy pointed out purchase of energy and shopping of seasonal goods for New Year. He said that today Naftogaz Ukrainy is not among the buyers of foreign currency. The company sells it.
