KYIV, Nov 28 - Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Ukraine as equity capital as of October 1 was $39.72 billion, which was 5.9%, or $2.22 billion, up on the beginning of the year, the State Statistics Service of Ukraine said on Tuesday.
In the first nine months of 2017, nonresidents increased investment in Ukraine by $1.22 billion, while disinvesting $0.31 billion, it said.
The main gain was due to a forex rate difference estimated at $1.33 billion, which was most likely related to the weakening of the U.S. dollar to major world currencies.
