KYIV, Oct 10 - The active presence of private defense companies on Ukraine's defense market requires the authorities reconsider approaches to the distribution of defense budget funds and the reform of the state defense order system, Valentyn Badrak, Director of the Center for Army, Conversion and Disarmament Studies (CACDS), said.
Private defense companies have grown in Ukraine in the face of the challenges of a hybrid war from Russia.
"The key task for today is to equalize the rights of private and state defense businesses in the formation and distribution of state defense order funds. At this stage, the preference is given to the state sector of the defense industry," the military expert told Interfax-Ukraine.
