Hryvnia-denominated loans to individuals up 13.4% in January-June, NBU reports
Journal Staff Report

KYIV, Aug 17 – Hryvnia-denominated loans issued by banks to individuals grew by 13.4% in January-June 2017, and those issued to companies – by 2.6%, according to a survey of the banking sector by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) posted on its website.

The figures take into account the loans on the balance of PrivatBank issued via the KUB service.

The central bank said that in contrast to data presented in the monetary and credit statistics, according to which growth of hryvnia-pegged loans issued to individuals was 11.5% and companies by 3.1%, the survey of the banking sector takes into account the indicators of banks being solvent as of the reporting date and also includes data of the bank's branches outside Ukraine and data revised, taking into account reserves on active transactions.
