KIEV, May 22 – The Ukrainian border service has prepared for at least 30% hike in traffic after EU visa free travel comes into force on June 11.
The border service carefully studied similar increase in traffic by Moldova and Georgia after their visa- free travel was implemented.
“In general, taking into account the capacities of the checkpoints and summer time, we expect that passenger flow in the first day could increase by some 30% and later by 10-15%," Viktor Nazarenko, the Head of the State Border Guard Service, told Interfax-Ukraine.
