KIEV, March 23 ??“ Ukraine will seek to dramatically reduce dependence on imported energy resources within the next 25 years by developing domestic coal mining and nuclear power sectors, President Viktor Yushchenko said Thursday.

Yushchenko supported a strategic energy program, which was approved by the government last week and calls for cutting the country??™s dependence on energy imports to 11.7% in 2030 from 54.7% in 2005.
