Groysman asks Rada to allow foreigner to become finance minister
Journal Staff Report

KIEV, March 30 – Parliament Speaker Volodymyr Groysman - considered a frontrunner to succeed Arseniy Yatseniuk as prime minister - has suggested the Ukrainian parliament allow temporarily - until May 1, 2017, the appointment of a foreigner as finance minister from among former heads or members of foreign governments.

The move would pave the way for assumption of the post by Ivan Miklos, a Slovakian politician asked by Groysman to take the job, replacing American-born Natalia Jaresko.
Groysman registered a corresponding bill on amendments to certain laws regarding the involvement of anti-crisis managers from the financial sector into Ukraine's government (No. 4333) in the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, according to the Ukrainian parliament's official website.
