MOSCOW, Feb. 1 – Naftogaz Ukrayiny plans to shortly send a delegation to Moscow in order to discuss new prices on gas transit via Ukraine with the deputy chair of Gazprom Alexander Medvedev, a source familiar with the situation has told Interfax.
Today the rate of transit tariff is determined under the long-term (in force from 2009 to 2019) contract between Naftogaz Ukrayiny and Gazprom. The rate is calculated based on a formula linked to the fuel cost factor and inflation rate in Europe. Pursuant to the contract with Gazprom, Ukraine charged $2.7/1,000 cubic meters per each 100km for the transit of Russian natural gas via its territory in Q2, 2015.
