KIEV, Sept. 29 – Some 51% of Ukrainians support their country joining the European Union, while integration into the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) is supported by only 17%, according to a poll conducted by the Ilko Kucheriv Democratic Initiatives Foundation and by the Razumkov Centre in July.
At the same time, nearly one-third of the population (31%) remains undecided.
According to the survey, the share of respondents supporting EU membership is highest in the western regions (82%) and the central region (52.5%). In the south, integration into the EU is supported by 39% of respondents, while integration into the EurAsEC is supported by 26%, and 35% of respondents in the region remain undecided.
