BRUSSELS, Jan. 20 – In the light of the current events in Ukraine, none of the 28 EU foreign ministers that met in Brussels yesterday think that the Russian sanctions should be either softened or lifted, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has said.

"In light of the current events in eastern Ukraine, no-one had the idea of loosening the sanctions," he told reporters after talks between EU ministers.
