MOSCOW, Jan. 15 – Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said there was no need to discuss a new document on gas supplies to Ukraine which might come into effect in April as the 'winter package' virtually duplicates the terms of the existing contract.
"We don't see the sense in drafting some sort of new document from April because the existing agreement, the so-called 'winter package', virtually reflects the terms of the existing contract between Gazprom and Naftogaz," Novak told reporters following a meeting with the EU's new energy chief Maros Sefcovic. "We're talking about current supplies. It contains the terms for financing, all the terms that are one way or another set down in the existing contract," he said.
