KIEV, Nov. 9 ??“ Foreign direct investment in the Ukrainian economy was likely to hit a record $7 bln this year as western companies had snapped up some high-profile assets, Economy Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk said Wednesday.

The expected figure will exceed by 10-fold an average annual level of FDI that had been channeled to Ukraine during the past decade, a sign of an emerging interest in the economy.
