Ukraine may start selling state assets for bucks, not hryvnia, next year
Journal Staff Report

KIEV, Sept. 12 - Ukraine may start selling state assets next year for U.S. dollars, reversing the current practice of selling the assets only for hryvnias, acting Finance Minister Viktor Pynzenyk said Monday.

The move is designed to help the National Bank of Ukraine, which has been scrambling over the past several years intervening on the foreign exchange markets to prevent the hryvnia's appreciation.
