KIEV, Aug. 24 - President Viktor Yushchenko on Wednesday called for an overhaul of the election law that would prevent weak parties from entering Parliament following the crucial general election in March 2006.

The winner of the election will be able to claim the post of prime minister, a position that will have greater powers after changes to the constitution come into force Jan. 1, 2006.
