Prime minister calls for self sufficiency in uranium ore deposits Journal Staff Report
Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko says Ukraine may provide itself with uranium without the need to import the metal. "We have enough uranium ore deposits, so we don't have to import it," Tymoshenko said at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant. She said Ukraine has 12 deposits with prospected capacities for 50 years. "This is more than enough," Tymoshenko said.
